Balibago barangay chairman PG Joseph Ponce and his entire ticket claimed a landslide victory in Monday’s Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.
Though official results had yet to be announced, Ponce confirmed the results on Monday evening, saying that this marked a record breaking victory over incumbent chairman Tony Mamac.
Official results from nearly 90% of voters barangay-wide who flocked at Sta. Maria Elementary School, Pabalan Elementary School, Tinio Elementary School & Gueco Elementary School showed with over 80% of the vote in favor of Ponce including his entire slate Kagawad Grace Urbano David, Jen Bonifacio-Torres, Joel Ocop, Socwey Manalastas, Pektus Nicdao, Ednel Batac and Kim Timbol, while Mamac and all his kagawads suffered a crushing defeat with just under 18%.
Ponce, 52, campaigned on a platform of participative good governance, health, education, peace & order, business, sectoral inclusivity, and infrastructural development.
