CLARK FREEPORT—Motorsports fans can look forward to the Philippines’ first motor racing museum, the Clark Tony’s Motorsport Museum (CTMM), which began construction on July 23.
Kilton Motor Corporation (KMC) and Bermaz Auto Philippines Inc. (Mazda Philippines) are leading the project, which will span 8,000 square meters over three floors, adjacent to the Clark International Speedway on Prince Balagtas Avenue in the northern part of this Freeport.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera praised the project for its potential to enhance Clark’s vibrancy and promote discipline and safety among youth. She highlighted the success of last year’s Clark International Festival of Speed (CIFOS) as evidence of the project’s positive impact.
“The museum will give the area vibrancy and help steer youth away from vices.” KMC’s focus on safety and training is setting important new standards,” Atty. Devanadera said.
The museum will feature racing bikes and motorcycles, Formula cars, racing cars, and go-karts. In addition, it will include a 1,200-square-meter conference hall for exhibitions, product launches, and private events, complete with a stage and dressing rooms. Officials from CDC and Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation attended the ceremony.
For his part, Johnny Tan, President of KMC, highlighted the potential of this additional museum to position Clark as the “Museum Capital of the Philippines.”
“If we have four or five museums here in Clark, school tours will benefit from visiting multiple museums in a single day. This initiative, which is a good plan by Ma’am Agnes [Devanadera], will hopefully boost tourism in Clark and Central Luzon and contribute to increasing foot traffic, which will make this a comfortable place for all,” Tan said.
The CTMM will complement existing attractions like the Clark Museum and the upcoming National Museum of the Philippines—Clark, further establishing this Freeport as a premier destination for business and tourism.
