The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Tarlac has qualified as a finalist for the 2024 Most Outstanding Chamber Award (MOCA).
The MOCA recognizes local chambers that contributed to the business growth and development of the community through its active involvement in the advocacy to improve the business climate and provide a sustainable environment for the expansion of commerce and industry.
PCCI Tarlac President Aileen Chan acknowledged the contribution of the members in their advocacy to promote a progressive economy, and enhance the viability of business in the community.
“I would like to thank all the members of PCCI Tarlac. This alone is not an effort of mine but the collective undertakings of everyone. We’re looking forward to October 4 which is the final judgment of MOCA,” she said.
Moreover, Chan expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the national government agencies, local government units (LGUs) and the Provincial Government of Tarlac for their assistance and cooperation in supporting and boosting local businesses in the province.
Chan added that they are working closely with the LGUs to invite and encourage budding entrepreneurs to join their organization.
She noted that the chamber serves as the venue to gain friends, establish connections and create networks.
Meanwhile, Department of Trade and Industry OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo lauded the strengthened partnership of PCCI Tarlac with the members of Tarlac Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Council (MSMEDC) to propel programs for the advancement of local businesses.
“Various projects were initiated through the leadership of PCCI Tarlac President and MSMEDC Chairperson Aileen Chan such as the Tarlac BizConEx where a caravan of services were successfully conducted. PCCI Tarlac also provided support to our young entrepreneurs through DTI’s conduct of the YEP You Can Be Your Own Boss program,” she explained.
Balilo likewise cited the financial support of PCCI Tarlac to aid individuals realize their full potential as entrepreneurs.
“DTI appreciates the support of PCCI Tarlac to our Tarlac MSMEs with their provision of additional financial assistance to further expand their operations,” she added.
On another note, PCCI Tarlac recently elected its directors for the chamber year 2025-2026.
New directors set to assume office next year include Faye Aquino, Leandro Atienza, Glenn Carreon, Ellis Chua, Winston Chua, Daisy Co, Mico David, Basti Dijamco, Gene Nicolas, Yoly Palomo, Maiko Pascual, Bebet Reyes, Cathy See, and Tet Taguines.
