The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has enhanced public access to its services by introducing mobile clearance units and streamlining online processes in Central Luzon.

These efforts aim to make it easier for residents across the region to secure the crucial NBI clearance, often required for employment, travel, and other legal purposes.

During the 19th episode of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas of the Philippine Information Agency, NBI Acting Regional Director Isaac Carpeso Jr. underscored the importance of NBI clearance and its role in the daily lives of Filipinos.

“Aside from our core investigative work, the issuance of NBI clearance is critical for employment both locally and abroad, visa applications, and other legal processes,” he said.

The NBI’s mobile service, dubbed “NBI Clearance on-Wheels,” brings clearance application services directly to communities, ensuring greater accessibility for individuals who may not have easy access to regional or district offices.

Carpeso highlighted the bureau’s ongoing commitment to providing efficient and accessible services.

“This initiative reflects our focus on making NBI services as convenient as possible for the public,” he added.

As of September 15, the NBI Central Luzon Regional Office has processed 51,939 applications, with 2,680 of those being first-time jobseekers who received their NBI clearance for free, as provided under the Republic Act No. 11261 or the First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act.

Meanwhile, NBI Regional Office 3 Clearance Center Chief Ma. Arianne Falcon discussed recent improvements to the clearance application process.

“To ensure convenience and efficiency, we have streamlined the entire process. Applicants can now register, schedule appointments, and make payments online through various payment channels like e-wallets and online banking,” she explained.

Once registered and payment is made, applicants can visit the nearest NBI Clearance Center on their scheduled appointment date for photo and biometric processing.

Falcon added that the entire process can take as little as one week for applicants to receive their clearance.

“We’ve also introduced an online renewal system for faster service. Renewals can be processed within a day at our main office in Manila, and door-to-door delivery is available for those outside the National Capital Region, taking about seven to ten working days,” she said.

For more information or to begin the online registration and appointment process, applicants can visit clearance.nbi.gov.ph or contact the NBI Central Luzon office at (045) 455-2809. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3- Pampanga)
