City government pushes tourism initiatives

The City Tourism and Investment Promotions Office (CTIPO) of City of San Fernando and local tourism stakeholders convened on October 16, 2024, for a public hearing aimed at creating an ordinance for the institutionalization of “Pamamugeng Fernandino karing Turista.” This initiative, held at Heroes Hall, seeks to unify the greetings of tourism frontliners and service providers, aligning with the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence promoted by the Department of Tourism.

CTIP Officer Ching Pangilinan underscored Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag’s vision for a cohesive approach to customer service in the tourism sector. City Councilor Rosemary Calimlim, the proposed ordinance’s author and Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism, Heritage, and Cultural Development, pledged to advance the ordinance for approval by the Sangguniang Panlungsod within the month.

Attendees expressed their support for the initiative, commending the city government for its ongoing commitment to enhancing the local tourism landscape.
