PH transportation progress catalyzed by Sokor partnership

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) outlined the country’s transportation agenda at the 2024 Korea-Philippines Infrastructure and Plant Forum held on October 17, 2024, alongside the 2024 Korea-ASEAN Project Plaza. Secretary Jaime Bautista emphasized existing collaborations with Korea while identifying new projects to enhance planning and implementation processes.

Bautista stated, “We are fine-tuning our multi-sectoral projects toward a common goal—a better travel experience. We need collaboration from various stakeholders, including Korean investors. We invite Korean companies to explore the business viability and rich investment opportunities in these transport projects.”

He further highlighted the importance of foreign assistance, noting that it not only helps implement transportation infrastructure on schedule but also stimulates socio-economic growth and creates jobs.

During the forum, DOTr Undersecretary for Planning and Project Development Timothy John Batan elaborated on the Department’s upcoming priority projects, reinforcing the commitment to enhancing the country’s transportation landscape.
