Egilas Pilipinas clinches Asian title after Laus Group partnership

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) has entered a pivotal partnership with the Laus Group of Companies, resulting in a landmark achievement for eGilas Pilipinas. The Filipino squad emerged victorious in the eFIBA Season 3 Asian Qualifiers, overcoming a 0-1 deficit to defeat Indonesia in the best-of-three Grand Finals on October 19.

The collaboration was formalized in a signing event, attended by SBP President Al Panlilio, Executive Director Erika Dy, eGilas Program Director Ryan Gregorio, and Institutional Support Head Anton Gonzales. Representing the Laus Group were President Paul Laus, Director of Operations for eSports Ian Serranilla, and Coach Nite Alparas, who will take on key roles as Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager for eGilas.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Laus Group into the SBP family and are pleased to start this partnership on a high note by winning the Asian Qualifiers,” Panlilio expressed. He emphasized that the Laus Group’s expertise in eSports will elevate eGilas’s development, ensuring enhanced training and competitive exposure.

In return, Laus expressed his appreciation for the SBP’s confidence, highlighting the group’s significant investments in eSports. “We recognize that achieving international success requires a collaborative effort,” Laus remarked, pledging the group’s commitment to advancing eGilas to the next level.

eGilas’s triumph has earned them a spot in the eFIBA Season 3 World Finals, slated for December 11 and 12, 2024, in Clark, Philippines. With the Laus Group’s backing, eGilas is set to elevate its preparation to face the best teams from across the globe.
