The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila expressed concern over the growing tension among the country’s political leaders, urging them to prioritize unity and dialogue.
In a statement released by Archbishop Jose F. Cardinal Advincula, he called on the public to pray for the nation’s leaders, emphasizing the need to prevent political issues and personal interests from further dividing the country.
“We hope for unity, mutual respect, and open dialogue among our leaders for the sake of the Filipino people,” Advincula said.
The archbishop appealed for restraint and constructive engagement, warning against the escalation of discord that could undermine the nation’s stability. His message comes amid increasing polarization in Philippine politics, which many fear could deepen divisions across various sectors of society.
The Church’s call for unity reflects its ongoing role as a moral compass, urging leaders to act with wisdom and compassion for the common good.
