Chef Florabel Yatco and Atty. Ananias “Jun” Canas, nominees of the Nanay Partylist (#38), recently met with officers of the Angeles City Public Market Vendors Federation to discuss their advocacy programs aimed at empowering mothers and supporting market vendors.
The meeting, held on January 22 at Remy’s Garden in Villa Dolores, Sto.
Domingo, Angeles City, was organized by federation vice president Remy Canlas and led by president Tess Maniacup. It served as a platform to engage stakeholders in preparation for the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE).
During the dialogue, Yatco highlighted the partylist’s mission to uplift Filipino mothers, stating, “With the Nanay Partylist, we can initiate livelihood programs and economic activities that address the immediate needs of mothers and families.”
Canlas underscored the importance of health and wellness initiatives, particularly for mothers, saying, “We prioritize health and wellness for mothers because they play a critical role in strengthening families and communities.”
The nominees expressed gratitude to Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda, and philanthropist Rodolfo “Tatay Bong” Pineda for their continued support.
Federation president Tess Maniacup thanked the Nanay Partylist for prioritizing market vendors, stating, “This dialogue gives us a voice. We appreciate the Nanay Partylist for reaching out and addressing our concerns.”
Yatco and Canlas reaffirmed their commitment to improving the lives of public market vendors through practical and sustainable programs.
As part of their health advocacy, the Nanay Partylist has been organizing anti-flu vaccination drives in areas such as Metro Manila, Porac, Mabalacat City, and Laguna, where Yatco personally led vaccine distributions.
The partylist also promotes fitness and wellness through Zumba events, hosting activities in Pampanga, Bulacan, and other locations to encourage healthy lifestyles among mothers and communities.
Through these initiatives, the Nanay Partylist continues to advance its mission of empowering mothers and fostering well-being in local communities.
