CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Philippines – The Provincial Joint Security Control Center (PJSCC) convened on Thursday, January 25, to ensure a safe and credible electoral process for the 2025 midterm elections on May 12.
Representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) joined the meeting, led by Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Lydia V. Florentino-Pangilinan, Pampanga Police Director PCOL Jay C. Dimaandal, and 70th Infantry Battalion Commander LTCOL Ryan Joseph Cayton.
The discussions focused on Pampanga’s peace and order situation, contingency plans for emergencies like fires and earthquakes, and updates on local absentee voting. COMELEC flagged two high-risk areas – Arayat and San Fernando City – due to political tensions and potential threats to peace and order.
PCOL Dimaandal stressed the importance of unified efforts to protect the democratic process. “The Pampanga Police, in collaboration with COMELEC and AFP, is committed to ensuring a peaceful and credible election,” he said, assuring the public that proactive measures and inter-agency coordination will address challenges.
The PJSCC will hold regular meetings leading up to the elections to monitor risks, refine security strategies, and address emerging concerns. With its unified approach, Pampanga aims to set a benchmark for peaceful and credible elections through effective collaboration between agencies and communities.
