CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the rehabilitation of six elementary school buildings in the municipalities of Lubao and Floridablanca, Pampanga, which recent typhoons damaged.

The initiative is expected to extend the lifespan of the facilities, accommodate the growing student population, and ensure continued access to quality education.

DPWH Pampanga 2nd District Engineer Gregorio Audea Jr. said the repairs, which included roof replacements and repainting, were completed at Remedios, San Miguel, Bancal Sinubli, and San Roque Arbol Elementary Schools in Lubao, as well as at Anon and Sto. Rosario Elementary Schools in Floridablanca.

“These improvements were necessary to ensure that the structures remain usable, as their structural integrity has been preserved. The minor repairs now provide a safer and more conducive learning environment for the students and address the need for additional classrooms,” Audea said.

The P15.5 million project was funded through the Quick Response Fund under the 2024 national budget for calamity-damaged school buildings. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
