CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – A newly-constructed dialysis center is set to open inside the Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital in Guagua, Pampanga to cater to more patients from the province’s second district.
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation has allotted P52.9 million for the center’s 43 dialysis machines and water reverse osmosis system; while the Department of Public Works and Highways contributed P29.3 million for the construction of the building.
The facility will be managed through a public-private partnership between the provincial government and B. Braun Philippines.
“This is for you. We want first-class health services for you. That is why, expect that the provincial government will put more programs and services here,” Governor Dennis Pineda told the patients and their relatives.
He also pledged additional support including assistance for patients needing arteriovenous fistula procedures and maintenance medications.
In addition to the Guagua Dialysis Center, the provincial government plans to establish four more dialysis centers, including facilities in the City of San Fernando and Apalit.
Records from the Provincial Health Office show that the Capitol is currently supporting 3,494 dialysis patients. (CLJD/MJSC, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
