BULACAN, Philippines – A high-impact police operation in Brgy. Sumandig, San Ildefonso, Bulacan, led to the arrest of a suspected criminal and the seizure of illegal firearms, explosives, and drugs, authorities said on February 3. The raid was carried out by the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and other law enforcement teams under the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3).
The suspect, identified only as alias “Ed,” a 47-year-old resident, was found in possession of a pistol with a laser sight, two suspected converted rifles with scopes, multiple magazines, and a large cache of ammunition. Police also discovered a fragmentation grenade inside the suspect’s residence, raising concerns over possible violent activities.
Apart from weapons, law enforcers seized dried marijuana leaves, a weighing scale, and drug paraphernalia, suggesting the suspect’s involvement in illegal drug operations. The search was conducted under a warrant issued by a local court, PRO3 officials confirmed.
PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN Jean S. Fajardo praised the operatives for the successful raid, emphasizing that the police force remains committed to cracking down on illegal firearms and drug trade. “There is no place for lawlessness in Central Luzon. We will continue to hunt down those who endanger our communities,” Fajardo said.
The suspect is now in police custody and faces charges for illegal possession of firearms, explosives, and drugs. Authorities urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement to help maintain peace and order in the region.
