Two most wanted fugitives fall in Central Luzon

MANILA, Philippines – Police in Central Luzon arrested two high-profile fugitives in separate operations in Bulacan and Bataan, dealing a significant blow to criminal activity in the region.

Carlos Angel Macabatao, also known as “Dagul,” was captured in Brgy. Borol 1st, Balagtas, Bulacan, on the night of February 3. The 21-year-old suspect, wanted for statutory rape, ranked among the most wanted at the regional, provincial, and municipal levels. Authorities executed his arrest based on a warrant issued by RTC Branch 79 in Malolos City, with no bail recommended. He is now in police custody for documentation and legal proceedings.

Less than 12 hours later, police operatives in Bataan arrested Mark Ronald Deniega, 30, in Brgy. Binaritan, Morong. Deniega, the fourth most wanted person in the region, was facing three counts of statutory rape under RTC Family Court, Branch 2 in Balanga City. Like Macabatao, his charges are non-bailable. Officers followed proper protocols during his arrest, including the use of body-worn cameras for transparency.

PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN Jean S. Fajardo Jr. praised the teams involved, emphasizing that law enforcement efforts will remain relentless in hunting down fugitives. “These successful arrests prove that no fugitive can outrun justice,” Fajardo said, urging stronger public cooperation in reporting criminal activity.

Authorities reminded the public to stay vigilant and work closely with law enforcement in ensuring safer communities. Police encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities, stressing that every tip could help bring criminals to justice.

The arrests are part of the intensified campaign against wanted persons in Central Luzon, with PRO3 vowing to sustain operations against fugitives and other high-profile criminals in the region.
