CABANATUAN CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a one-story, two-classroom school building in Rizal, Nueva Ecija.
Located at Ballesteros Elementary School (BES) in Barangay Paco Roman, the new structure helps alleviate overcrowding and provides essential amenities to students, including proper ventilation, lighting, and accessibility.
Nueva Ecija 1st District OIC Engineer Jun Vana emphasized that the facility offers a more spacious and conducive learning environment, addressing the growing student population and improving education quality in the community.
“The school building features reinforced concrete gutters, a handwashing area on the left side, a PWD-accessible ramp with handrails, window grilles on the front and rear, a parapet wall, and toilets in every classroom for student and teacher convenience,” he said.
BES Teacher Jennifer Miranda noted that the new building has significantly improved the learning environment. She highlighted that the spacious classrooms and proper restrooms help students focus and study more effectively.
“Napakalayo po ng itsura ng dating building na ito kumpara sa bagong building namin ngayon. Malaking tulong po ito para maging maayos at mas maging produktibo ang pag-aaral ng mga bata, lalo na’t napakaluwang po ng classroom nila ngayon at may maayos na rin po silang CR (The appearance of this old building is very different compared to our new building now. This is a great help in making the students’ learning more organized and productive, especially since their classroom is now very spacious and they also have proper restrooms),” Miranda emphasized.
The P4.95-million project was funded under the Department of Education’s Basic Educational Facilities Fund. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
