Senator Bong Revilla Jr. visited Pampanga on Saturday, February 22, where he started his day with breakfast at the farm of Romeo Catacutan. During his visit, he praised Kapampangan delicacies, expressing his love for buro (fermented rice and fish), betuteng tugak (stuffed frogs), and other local dishes. His trip highlighted his appreciation for regional culture while engaging with local leaders and constituents.
Beyond his celebrity status, Revilla emphasized that he is not just an “action star” but also an “action man” in public service. He proudly shared that out of the 2,000 bills he has proposed, 342 have been passed into law. His legislative track record reflects his advocacy for education, senior citizens, and disaster preparedness, among other key areas.
Among his notable laws is the Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo (KAP) Act, which institutionalized and increased the annual teaching allowance for public school teachers. He also championed the Anti-No Permit, No Exam Law, ensuring that students with unpaid tuition and other fees can still take their periodic and final exams. These measures aim to ease financial burdens on both educators and students.
Revilla also spearheaded the Revilla Law (Expanded Centenarian Act), which extends cash incentives to senior citizens aged 80, 85, 90, and 95, granting them ₱10,000 each before reaching 100. This expansion builds on the Centenarians Act of 2016, recognizing the contributions of the elderly while providing them with financial support earlier in life.
Other significant laws he authored include the Lifetime Validity of Birth, Death, and Marriage Certificates Act, Minimum Wage Tax Exemption Law, Philippine Disaster Management Act, and Free College Entrance Examinations Act. Through these initiatives, Revilla continues to position himself as a lawmaker focused on practical, pro-people legislation.
