ORANI, Bataan – The regional office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) office headed by Regional Director Gemma Gabuya on Monday led the formal turn-over of more than P2.9 million worth of check for their Cash-for-Work Program.
Mayor Efren “Bondjong” Pascual Jr. and his fellow public servants MSWD officer Beth Cruz and municipal treasurer Rosario Cacho personally received the check for the municipal government here.
“Ang tsekeng natanggap ng ating Pamahalaang Bayan ay nagkakahalaga ng P2,902,440.00 para sa 1,100 na benefiaciaries na ating mga kababayan sa Cash for Work na ito ng DSWD,” Pascual said.
DSWD’s beneficiaries of the Cash-for-Work programs will receive cash based on the prevailing regional wages in exchange for doing community projects, such as repair and reconstruction of damaged houses and community facilities, clean-up and garbage collection, among others.
“Ilan sa mga programa na nakaplano sa cash for work na ito ay ang paglilinis ng mga kapaligiran, mga canal at pagpapahukay sa mga kailugan upang maibsan o bumaba ang tsansa ng pagbaha sa ating bayan sa panahon ng tagulan,” the mayor added.
