Pranksters and bogus buyers, beware!
Playing pranks or placing sham orders from food delivery businesses can send you to prison.
This as the Sangguiang Panlungsod of Angles City approved an ordinance penalizing pranking of transporters from food deliveries and courier services and refusing to pay for online orders with no valid reason.
The Anti-Online Pranking Food Delivery Ordinance was okayed following numerous reports of food delivery services and transporters falling prey to pranksters and bogus buyers.
Under the measure, a bogus buyer is a scammer who enthusiastically shows interest on an item and orders for it over the internet, phone call, text messages and chat but will not actually buy it.
A person violating the ordinance faces an imprisonment of no less than one (1) month but not more than six (6) months and will pay a fine of not less than one thousand pesos (P1,000.00) but not more than five thousand (P5,000.00).
A large number of AngeleƱos have relied on food delivery services from Mangan.Ph and Food Panda, among others, at the height of the enhanced community quarantine.
