AC gov’t begins city-wide disinfection anew

ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has instructed the City Engineer’s Office to begin anew the conduct of a city-wide disinfection today, Aug. 18 in the city’s public areas, streets, and major roads using misting trucks to boost the confidence of Angeleños in mitigating the threats of Covid-19.

“This is to lower the risk of the public from contracting Covid-19, by sanitizing the surroundings and maintaining a cleaner environment,” Mayor Lazatin said.

Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas shared that Mayor Lazatin has deployed two misting trucks to begin the disinfection along Barangay Pulungbulu.

The disinfection services, according to Calaguas, will ramp up the efforts being undertaken by the city government to combat the spread of the virus.

“Mag-iikot po sa buong siyudad yung mga misting truck natin para mag-disinfect sa mga pampublikong lugar, lalo na sa mga barangay na mataas ang bilang nang tinamaan ng virus,” she added.

City Engineer Donato Dizon said the misting trucks will roam around the city via schedule to continue the large-scale disinfection operations.

Aside from this, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel has also been supervising the two teams from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office, headed by Archimedes Lazatin, in conducting disinfection on the households of Covid-19 patients (confirmed and close contacts) from Monday to Sunday, upon extraction of the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led by Rodolfo Simeon.

The CENRO disinfection teams have also been conducting disinfection in the City Hall offices and premises daily after working hours since March, with the support of ACDRRMO.

Further, the Abad Santos Justice Hall is being sanitized every Friday while the two vaccination areas in the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School are being disinfected every after the inoculation schedules.
