ANGELES CITY — As part of the initiative to assist struggling artists during the pandemic, the city government here opened an art exhibit featuring the works of Dr. Vittorio Pantig at the ground floor of the Marquee Mall.
The art exhibit, which starts today, April 18 until May 1, 2022, is one of the many efforts of the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. thru the City Tourism Office led by Anneleen Antonio-Sugui to help artists get back on their feet.
With the Earth Day 2022 celebration in place, Dr. Pantig’s exhibit dubbed as “Pamanyese King Indung Gabun,” (Nurturing Mother Earth) will also launch the Coffee Table Art Book of Dr. Pantig called as “Obrang Dutung, a 25-year Journey.”
“Our artists, who have been one of the most affected sectors during the pandemic, are prioritized in these recovery initiatives. With that, we are exerting more efforts to provide venues for art exhibits,” claimed Lazatin.
Mayor Lazatin vowed that the city will always provide support and assistance to various sectors and the local artists.
“Rest assured that the City Government will continue to uplift our artists in their future endeavors. Tuloy-tuloy po ang mga programa natin para sa ating art industry,” he emphasized.
Moreover, this is made possible through the partnerships made between malls and business establishments.
To recall, Lazatin asked them to showcase artists and their art works by providing free avenue.
Present during the ceremony were Vice Mayor Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting, Executive Assistant V Rafael Angeles, Herminia Pamintuan (Wife of Mr. Edgardo Pamintuan, CDC Chairman), Peachy Atendido (General Manager of MarQuee Mall), Joel Pabustan Mallari (Cluster Head, Kapampangan, Tagalog, and Sambal), and Norman Tiotuico (Kapampangan Artist).
Local artists also showed their support in the event, by gracing the opening ceremony.
