AC gov’t to fumigate 33 barangays

ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said the Angeles City Government will be fumigating the 33 barangays here for the elimination of dengue.

Upon the instruction of Mayor Lazatin, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel already formed teams from the City Health Office – Sanitation Division and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) to fast track the saturation drive and daily fogging operations in each village.

“Amid the pandemic we are facing, we must also ensure the safety of my constituents from other diseases and viruses. It is my utmost priority to safeguard the health of every Angeleño,” Lazatin stressed.

The fumigation already started last week in the City Hall premises and off-site offices, Manuel says.

On July 1, 2020, members of CHO-Sanitation Division already conducted fumigation in Barangay Malabanias, she added. The saturation drive in other barangays will follow suit.

“This move of the city government is the initiative of Mayor Lazatin to contain the dengue-carrying mosquitoes and prevent them from further breeding,” Manuel reiterated.

The dengue epidemic in the country did not spare Angeles City which recorded 232 dengue cases reported from January up to June, and 0 deaths.
