AC income up 11.96% under Mayor Pogi’s admin

ANGELES CITY – The income of the city government for the past three months under Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr.’s leadership has reached P474,177,160.33 compared to last year’s P417,535,075.59, marking an 11.96% increase.

Mayor Lazatin reported this during his meeting with the Rotary Club Cluster 3-C at Rib Eye Function Hall here.

“I am happy to report that we are making big strides in our aim to provide a responsive government for all the sectors of the society,” he added.

This came in the heels of the mayor’s move to intensify the monitoring of business establishments in the City. As a result, the City’s business tax collections reached P104,755,698.92. A total of P90,444,324.79 came from collections by the Business Permit and License Division (BPLD) alone from July to September 2019, a 13. 61% increase from the July to September 2018 collections amounting to P78,134,424.27.

“Such increase in collections was recorded despite our pronouncement that my administration will not increase business and real property taxes. Instead, my leadership merely motivated the staff of BPLD to do its mandate and help infuse the needed resources to the city’s coffers,” the Mayor said.

The BPLD has issued 1,006 business permits during Mayor Lazatin’s administration, – 787 new and 219 for renewal; and 1,112 for applied permits, – 848 and 263 for new and renewal, respectively.

“For next year, I will continue on with my promise, that the city will not increase taxes so as not to burden the members of the business sector,” Mayor Lazatin reiterated.

According to the report of the City Treasurer’s Office, total local sources rose 7.75%, from P186,679,327.64 to P202,366,502.60.

Meanwhile, for external sources, the total amount for the past three months this year is P271,910,657.73, versus P230,855,747.95 of the same period last year.
