AFAB installs PHL 1st VCPS System

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) has undertaken the installation of the Vehicle Classification and Priority Scheme (VCPS) System along the Zigzag Road, Mariveles, Bataan.

“We recognize the importance of ensuring the availability of safe passageway for both the workers and goods in and out of the FAB!,” the AFAB Facebook Page stated.

The system serves as traffic counters and classifiers using ultra-modern sensors that can be used to provide very accurate traffic count data systems which can monitor and report on vehicle classification, speed, gap and headway across the zigzag roads of the Freeport.

This system also aims to minimize, if not completely eradicate, the reported frequent accidents at the Zigzag Road causing traffic jams and delayed deliveries of goods manufactured from the FAB factories.

The AFAB confirms this shall be the first VCPS System in the Philippines to be installed in an ascending-descending terrain.

The VCPS System will be operational in the coming months.
