AFAB secures strategic Korean partnerships for industrial and workforce development projects

Mariveles, Bataan – The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), led by Administrator and CEO Hussein Pangandaman, continues to broaden its international partnerships following the formal signing of separate Declarations of Commitment and Support with MSQUARE Global and the Global Human Resource Development Institute (GHRDI) of South Korea on 14 October 2025, at the AFAB Administration Building in FAB, Mariveles, Bataan.

Both declarations were executed to establish a framework for cooperation between AFAB and the two Korean organizations in identifying and developing projects within the Freeport Area of Bataan. Both agreements define the intent to begin a structured coordination process, from the exchange of information to the assessment of areas suitable for future development.

The Global Human Resource Development Institute, represented by President In Sun Choi, declared its commitment to work with AFAB in identifying opportunities that relate to training, human resource development, and institutional capacity-building that can operate within the Freeport’s regulatory structure.

Meanwhile, MSQUARE Global, represented by Chairman Byungho Choi, also conveyed its readiness to participate in identifying and evaluating projects for potential implementation within AFAB. The company’s participation expands AFAB’s ongoing collaboration with Korean enterprises exploring business operations in the Philippines.

The AFAB reaffirmed its support by ensuring that incentives and facilitation provided by law will be made available to both companies as their respective projects progress through evaluation and implementation stages.

The signing was witnessed by MSQUARE Advisor Oh Young Oh and PnB Group representatives Mi Kyung Jang and Keunhee Lee, alongside Office of the Administrator Group Head Atty. Percival B. Peralta.

The twin signings reflect AFAB’s continuing engagement with credible international partners while ensuring that all agreements are directed toward implementable and mutually beneficial outcomes.
