Attendees of the “1st AirAsia Business Meeting: Innovation of Tourism Business” on July 4 were from North and Central Luzon and Camanava (cities of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela).

Phoebe Lou Calo, AirAsia sales and distribution manager, said the meeting aims to equip participants with knowledge on social media tourism, tourism growth and Clark as an alternative gateway.

“We want to help our participants on how they innovate their products and use social media to make it more convenient for their customers to avail their offers,” Calo said.

Present during the meeting were Clark International president and chief executive officer Alexander Cauguiran, Department of Tourism in Central Luzon director Carolina Uy and representatives from Clark Development Corporation.

During the meeting, Cauguiran discussed the existing and upcoming flights in Clark including AirAsia’s Clark-Taipei route which will commence on July 12.

Meanwhile, tourism director Uy discussed potential tourist spots in Central Luzon including the growing number of ship cruises docking at Subic Bay Freeport. Uy has also mentioned the plans to revive Subic Bay Freeport’s airport.

According to AirAsia public relations manager Jenny Tan, the business meeting is set to be held annually. The same business meeting has been held earlier in Manila, Cebu and Davao.
