CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Police Director General Oscar “Oca” Albayalde, newly-installed chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) urged the local officials and police personnel in Central Luzon to work together with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for a peaceful and orderly Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
“Sama-sama nating suungin ang mga tamang hakbangin tungo sa mapayapa at maayos na halalan sa darating na Mayo katorse,” Albayalde, PNP 1st Kapampangan police director general said.
This came as Albayalde also led the Regional Day of Prayer and Signing of Pledge of Commitment together with Pampanga Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda, Bataan Governor Albert Raymon ‘Abet’ Garcia and Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino Sy Alvarado during the 1st ever Regional Election Security Forum for BSKE 2018 held here on Wednesday.
The Regional Election Security Forum, initiated by Governor Pineda was also attended by the delegates from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Regional Directors of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Education (DepEd), National Police Commission, Bureau of Treasury, Commission on Elections (COMELEC), members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan led by Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda and local and municipal officials of the region.
Police Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, regional director of the Police Regional Office-3, shared the crime situation and preparation of the region for BSKE 2018, while Atty. Temmie Lambino, regional election director discussed well the detailed uniform security plan.
“Natutuwa ako sa kahandaan ng bawat ahensya para sa darating na halalan,” Bataan Governor Garcia, chairman of the regional peace and order council said.
Garcia also mentioned that the BSKE is “personal” compared to the local and national elections, given there are families, friends, and foes in the neighborhood vying for a position. Despite that fact, he is still hoping for peace and order in the region.
Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Salamat, commander of the Northern Luzon Command, commended the determination and hard work of the PNP and AFP.
Before closing the forum, Governor Pineda, together with Vice Governor Pineda together with the board members handed over a resolution congratulating the promotion of Albayalde as top cop of the country.
To show how united the region is, representatives from the religious sector offered a prayer for a peaceful and orderly BSKE 2018. Attendees of the forum signed their pledge of commitment.
