Thus said, Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda to local and national candidates who are intent on campaigning in Pampanga are welcome, and assured that every candidate has the right to seek the Kapampangans’ votes.
The governor had welcome national candidates from partylists, senatorial candidates and even those seeking national positions. The governor had welcomed Presidential Candidates Ferdinand Marcos, Francisco Moreno Domagoso and Leni Robredo.
“We will accept everyone who visits us in the province. It is our obligation to accept that, it is our obligation to show the Kapampangan attitude that they are welcome,” Pineda said.
Pineda, who is also seeking a fresh term in office, had said in previous reports that Kapampangans a free to choose their political bets.
“I am begging all Kapampangans. Let’s respect each other’s decisions. Let’s not take any step against rival candidates. And the same goes for the other side, let’s avoid it. At the end of the day, we are still all Kapampangans,” Pineda said.
As for candidates who are going to visit Pampanga in the home run of the remaining days of the campaign, Pineda said that they will be treated to the usual Kapampangan hospitality if they visit the Capitol.
“We should not quarrel because of the candidate we want. What we need to do is to respect each other, and the decision of our fellow Kapampangans as to which candidate they want so that this election will be a peaceful one,” Pineda added.
