ANGELES CITY – The anti-terrorism law is now Republic Act 11479 as President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed the bill on July 3.
The enactment is being supported by the Angeles City Council, led by Vice Mayor Ma. Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting, as they approved Resolution No. 9025, S. 2020 recently, a local legislative measure which calls for the approval of the bill.
The resolution was sponsored by Councilors Joseph Ponce, Danilo Lacson, Atty. Arvin Suller, Dr. Alfie Bonifacio, and Marino Bañola.
Said majority vote is also composed of Jesus Sangil, Raco Del Rosario, Jeremias Alejandrino, and Arnoah Mandani.
The local council of Angeles City is one with the national government in fighting terrorism, preserving peace and order, and protecting its citizens.
The Anti-Terrorism Law replaces a 2007 anti-terror law called the Human Security Act.
