Angeles City expands public cemetery capacity

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. led the inauguration of the expanded Angeles City Public Cemetery in Barangay Capaya on March 5, 2025, ensuring more burial space for residents. He was joined by Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, city officials, and barangay captains.

With the completion of Phase 3, the public cemetery now accommodates up to 12,518 niches and columbarium slots, projected to meet burial needs until 2030. The expansion includes 7,192 full-body niches—6,380 for adults and 812 for children—along with 3,726 bone niches and 1,600 columbarium slots, each capable of holding up to three urns.

City officials emphasized that the project is part of the local government’s commitment to providing dignified and accessible burial options for indigent families. The newly expanded facility aims to address growing demand while ensuring residents have a proper resting place for their loved ones.
