The Department of Trade and Industry Region 3 (DTI-3) on Feb. 7 has turned over a P2 million check to the Angeles City government for the establishment of the city’s One Town, One Product (OTOP) Store Express.
According to the DTI-3, the amount reflects the approved application of the city government in 2016 from the DTI’s menu of projects granted under its Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) Program.
“The primary intention of the OTOP Store Express is to showcase the best products of Angeles City that are marketable both to locals and tourists,” said DTI-3 Director Elenita Ordonio.
Back in 2015, the city government of Angeles applied for its first grant under the DTI’s “Yamang Pinoy” program to conduct various training programs intended to benefit start-up and existing city entrepreneurs and enterprises.
The amount will further support the trade and marketing campaign of Angeles City.
With its accessibility to prospective markets and relative infrastructures, the city’s Museo ning Angeles is seen to house the said OTOP Store Express.
The check was received by Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan.
