Angeles City on October 12, 2024, is set to release an official song for the Kambal Festival, a celebration that honors the twin religious fiestas with the parade of twins and festive floats.
This was revealed by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. who said that the Kambal Festival song aims to capture the essence of the city’s identity, rich cultural and religious heritage — bringing the community together in celebration of faith and tradition.
“Love Angeles City. Ito rin po ay para sa pagkakakilanlan ng Angeles City at lalo na ng mga kababayang Angeleños,” Lazatin said.
Angeles City is known for its religious twin celebration every October – the Feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of La Naval and the Feast of Our Lord of Mercy, also known as the “Fiesta ning Apung Mamacalulu.”
Composed by renowned Kapampangan artist Andy Alviz, the lyrics reflect the vibrant spirit of the celebration, encourages the community to come together, participate in the festivities, and take pride in their traditions.
The song also pays tribute to the city’s culinary excellence and the pride of being Angeleño.
Among those who helped to supervise and produce the songs are Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, and Gender and Development Officer-in-Charge Mina Cabiles who thanked the people behind, making the song possible – the singers: Alviz, Edward Bernabe, JC Pineda, Bea Dizon, and Luigi Pineda; Recording Engineer – Luigi Pineda and for the song’s Mixing: Jon Gosioco.
The upcoming Kambal Festival is the 4th under the leadership of Mayor Lazatin, who doubled up the cash prizes and where all 33 barangays are recorded to join with their respective twin representatives.
