Angeles City to open public cemetery expansion

ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. is set to lead the blessing and inauguration of Phase 3 of the Angeles City Public Cemetery (ACPC) on March 5, 2025, marking another step in the city’s commitment to improving public services and facilities.

Located in Barangay Capaya, the Phase 3 expansion will add 1,152 full-body adult niche slots, 960 bone niches, and 288 baby niches, further increasing the cemetery’s total capacity to 12,518. This includes 7,192 full-body niches, 3,726 bone niches, and 1,600 columbarium slots that can hold two to three urns per slot.

With this expansion, Mayor Lazatin said the cemetery is expected to accommodate burials until 2030, ensuring long-term service for the city’s residents.

“This expansion is an investment in the future, ensuring that our public cemetery remains accessible and well-equipped to serve our community,” Lazatin stated.

The Phase 1 expansion of the ACPC was inaugurated on September 5, 2024, adding 2,748 niches. In January 2025, the Phase 2 expansion introduced 800 columbarium slots and 2,400 bone niches across 11,510 square meters, with plans for an additional 3,360 bone niches in future developments.
