ANGELES CITY, Philippines – The annual citywide LGBTQIA+ Pride Parade in Angeles City has been rescheduled to October, aligning with the city’s Oktoberfest festivities, organizers announced on Wednesday, July 17.

Originally set for July 26, the event was postponed due to inclement weather and out of respect for residents affected by recent flooding in the region.

“We don’t want to be tagged as insensitive,” said Loyd Nicdao, president of the Angeles City and Pampanga Federation of LGBTQIA+, during a press conference at Robinsons Balibago. “The LGBTQIA+ community stands in solidarity with flood victims, and we remain committed to compassionate and inclusive advocacy.”

The press briefing was hosted by Barangay Balibago Chairman Joseph “Kap PG” Ponce, a longtime human rights advocate and ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. Ponce, who began supporting equality initiatives during his term as city councilor, reaffirmed his commitment to inclusivity in local governance.

The Pride Parade will now be held in close coordination with the Office of Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II and the Angeles City Tourism Office, ensuring the celebration is part of the official Oktoberfest calendar.

Now on its second year, the Angeles Pride Parade is gaining recognition as one of Central Luzon’s most vibrant and inclusive events, blending cultural celebration with calls for human rights and LGBTQIA+ visibility.
