Christmas wishes of some 50 Aeta kids were fulfilled after receiving holiday presents from Midori Hotel and Casino management during their annual ‘Angels’ Dream’ gift-giving event, Friday.
Learners from Sapang Babo, Sapang Bato, Sitio Haduan, Sitio Monicayo, Marcos and Macapagal Villlage were given bicycles, toys, electric fans, grocery items, and a lot more holiday treats.
It can be recalled last November 8, the letters stating the wishes of Aeta kids were hanged on the hotel’s Christmas tree which symbolizes these dreams will come true.
From 300 children since its launching in 2016, the number of Angel’s Dream beneficiaries has doubled this year.
“Ako po ay isa sa mga mapalad na nabigyan ng regalo noong nakaraang taon at nagpapasalamat po ako sa Midori dahil kasama po ako ulit sa mga nabigyan ngayong taon. Malaki ya halamat!,” Daisy Gutierrez, one of the Aeta recipients, said in her gratitude speech.
Gutierrez, 18 years old and a fourth grade student at Sapang Bato Elementary School said she stated in her letter to have grocery items as gift this Christmas since December 24 marks her birthday celebration.
On the distribution, they were assisted by Midori Clark Casino General Manager Manny Aure, Midori Clark Hotel General Manager Vic Chan, Aqua Planet General Manager Rafael Suarez and former tourism regional director Ronnie Tiotuico.
According to Human Resource Manager Luvlany Bondoc, the company representatives are set to visit the target schools next week to fulfill the dreams of 550 more youngsters.
The Angels’ Dream event themed ‘Be a blessing by giving’ is in partnership with Eaglesky, BBI Foundation, OVBD, and Aqua Planet.
“Let us not forget the main reason for this season, the birth of Jesus Christ,” BBI Foundation President Irineo ‘Bong’ Alvaro highlighted.
