ARBO members in Tarlac undergo entrepreneurship training

TARLAC CITY — The Department of Trade Industry (DTI), in partnership with Tarlac State University (TSU), organized a seminar on entrepreneurship for Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organization (ARBO) members in Tarlac.

Participants come from ARBOs in the municipalities of Camilng, La Paz, Paniqui, and San Manuel.

DTI Tarlac Trade-Industry Development Specialist Paolo Manese said the activity highlighted the basics and advanced concepts of business administration.

“The seminar sought to equip the participants with the knowledge on starting and running a profitable business that would enable them to effectively manage and sustain their business ventures,” he said.

TSU resource persons Elvira Mercado, Limuel Pavico, and Jose Geaga focused their discussions on the steps before opening a business; the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats Analysis; and the importance of customer relations

One of the beneficiaries, Sally Wang, recognized the benefits of the seminar on their day-to-day operations in their cooperative’s business.

“With the seminar, I was able to assess whether our cooperative’s business operations were done the right way.  Though the topics were technical, the speakers made sure that they were easy to understand,” she said.

DTI, under its Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, regularly assists ARBOs to ensure the sustainability of their businesses. (CLJD/GLSB, PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
