Army 7th Infantry Division (7ID) deployed a total of 11 Community Support Program (CSP) teams in the provinces of Tarlac, Zambales and Pangasinan.
7ID Acting Commander Brigadier General Luis Rex Bergante said this is part of their commitment not only to assist local government units (LGUs) on their peace and development efforts but also to eliminate the influence of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) particularly in Indigenous Peoples communities.
The 11 teams are composed of units under the 703rd and 702nd Infantry Brigades.
They underwent CSP Refresher Training at 7ID Training School to harness their potentials and skills.
“About 14 CSP teams were earlier deployed in different barangays of Tarlac and Zambales last February. However, there is a need to deploy another set after conducting a series of workshops together with the former members of CTG’s KLG-TARZAM,” Bergante shared.
“Our programs implemented under the CSP are in line with the objectives of Executive Order No. 70 with the full support of the LGUs involved. We are focused on our goal to clear the remaining areas from the influence of the terrorists. We are guided with our objectives and a strong commitment to delivering the result in whatever means,” he emphasized. (CLJD-PIA 3)
