CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) will play host this week to the third leg of the ASEAN Campus Forum of Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 3.
This coincides with the 2nd ASEAN Festival of TAU on August 24 and 25.
“As part of hyping the Philippine Chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this 2017, PIA in Central Luzon will be holding campus forums in different provinces to educate and pitch support from the youth in this endeavor,” PIA Regional Director William Beltran said.
The forum will feature discussions on the goals of the Philippine Chairmanship and the Political-Security, Economic, and Socio-Cultural Community Pillars of the regional bloc.
Representatives from National Economic and Development Authority will also explain the salient points of AmBisyon Natin 2040.
“An On-the-Spot Poster Making contest will be held for students of the host university as an ancillary activity. The entries shall be exhibited and winners announced during the Campus Forum proper,” Beltran added.
The Roving Information Kiosk will also visit TAU during the festival, giving students, faculty members, and employees the opportunity to learn more on ASEAN as well as programs and projects of national government agencies.
PIA Region 3 held the first leg of its Campus Forum at Tarlac State University last March 30 and second leg at Central Luzon State University and Aurora State College of Technology last May.
Other educational institutions it will visit this year include Bataan Peninsula State University, Ramon Magsaysay Technological University, Pampanga State Agricultural University, and Bulacan State University. — Carlo Lorenzo J. Datu
