Sophomore students from Angeles University Foundation of the College of Computer Studies under the Bachelor of Multimedia Arts program were hailed as the Champion in the recently held Southeast Asia Region Adobe Creative Jam Hackathon 2020. The winning team composed of Kian Francis Peralta, Dian Raisa Pangilinan, Erica Mae Cristobal and Christian Joseph Santiago. The three universities declared winners are as follow:
1st Place: ANGELES UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION, Philippines
2nd Place: TAYLOR’S UNIVERSITY, Malaysia
3rd Place: RANGSIT UNIVERSITY, Thailand
There were 81 teams with a total of 330 students from different universities in Southeast Asia that participated in the prestigious title of this creative arena. A brain-draining Adobe bootcamp was set for a day as they prepare for a rigorous 2-week time to create and design a prototype mobile app using Adobe XD and document their design process using Premiere Rush and Adobe Spark. From 81 down to 27 surviving teams who delivered what’s on the project brief only 5 advanced to pitch on the grand finale.
Adobe Education Creative Jam is a competition that recognizes students in developing and producing the best design project. For years, Adobe has been doing this competition to promote their motto “Creativity for all” to jump start the imagination and creativity of students. It is indeed an impeccable platform to bring creative ideas into life and discover career paths with Adobe tools.
Angeles University Foundation College of Computer Studies, one of the Centers of Excellence in I.T. Education duly recognized by CHED have initially offered the program Bachelor of Multimedia Arts in 2019. Spearheaded by the college Dean, Dr. Lilibeth Timbol- Cuison and Program Chair, Ms. Ma. Joyce Macaspac, they envisioned producing globally competitive graphic and multimedia designers. The goal of the program is to develop within students the knowledge and skills that will enable them to communicate effectively, critically and creatively across a range of new media technologies and forms, and to develop multimedia projects with these qualities, for various purposes.
