BALER, Aurora — The Aurora Provincial Government has raised a Blue Alert status and activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in preparation for the influx of tourists and travelers this Holy Week and Summer Vacation (SumVac) 2025.

Effective April 16 to 21, the alert level aims to bolster emergency preparedness and response efforts across the province. Governor Reynante A. Tolentino issued Memorandum No. 2025-10, Series of 2025, mandating strict adherence to the Bravo Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) Protocol by all concerned departments and agencies.

Aurora Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Chief Engr. Elson Amado A. Egargue said the move is a proactive step to ensure public safety during the peak travel season.

“With the expected surge in population movement, especially in tourist hotspots, the Blue Alert enables us to synchronize agency efforts and rapidly respond to emergencies,” Egargue said in an interview.

Operating 24/7, the EOC is stationed at the PDRRMO headquarters in Barangay Suklayin, Baler. It is manned by personnel from the Governor’s Office, Provincial Health Office, Department of Health – Aurora, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Army 91st IB, DILG, and volunteer responders from groups like the Philippine Red Cross and Kabalikat Civicom.

The public is encouraged to stay vigilant, observe safety measures, and cooperate with authorities. Emergency hotlines and response teams have been mobilized for incidents such as accidents, health emergencies, and natural disasters.

Egargue assured that the province is fully prepared to protect both residents and visitors through coordinated efforts and round-the-clock monitoring.
