Aurora’s 307th CDC named best in Region 3

CAMP AQUINO, Tarlac City — The 307th Community Defense Center (CDC) of Aurora Province was formally recognized as Region 3’s Best Community Defense Center for 2025 during the 39th Founding Anniversary of the 3rd Regional Community Defense Group (3RCDG) held at Camp Aquino, Tarlac City on May 25.

The award was personally handed by Major General Ramon P. Zagala, Commander of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army, who served as Guest of Honor and Speaker for the milestone occasion. The recognition underscores the 307th CDC’s exceptional performance in reserve force development, disaster response, and community engagement throughout the year.

Representing the unit during the ceremony was Lieutenant Colonel Ron Michael M. Soriao, CDC Director, alongside Technical Sergeant Raul D. Poblete, Chief Clerk. The duo proudly carried the unit colors as the Best CDC streamer was donned, symbolizing the center’s remarkable achievements and steadfast service.

Under the leadership of Lt. Col. Soriao, the 307th CDC has shown commendable success in mobilizing reservists, conducting disaster relief operations, and strengthening its ties with local communities. The unit played a vital role in responding to natural calamities in Aurora and maintaining a high standard of readiness and coordination.

Further enhancing its performance, the 307th CDC has been instrumental in advancing the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Program in Aurora. “Our ROTC Unit in Aurora ranks 4th overall in the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI),” Soriao said, attributing the accomplishment to the collaborative effort between the military unit and local academic institutions in instilling discipline, leadership, and patriotism among students.

Recognizing the importance of strong partnerships, the 3RCDG also honored Maria Aurora Mayor Ariel S. Bitong as Stakeholder of the Year for his unwavering support to the 307th CDC. His contributions in logistics, advocacy, and coordination were cited as vital in boosting the unit’s operational efficiency and outreach.

Adding to the celebration was the promotion of 1st Lieutenant Prescila D. Soliven of the 307th Aurora Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion. Her new rank was ceremonially donned by Maj. Gen. Zagala, reflecting the ongoing professional growth and leadership development within the reserve force.

The award reinforces the 307th CDC’s standing as a pillar of national defense and a model of public service in Central Luzon. It marks yet another milestone for a unit that continues to serve with honor, excellence, and a deep commitment to both community and country.
