Bataan bus crash injures 25

BALANGA CITY — Twenty five persons were reported injured while five of them are in serious condition when a passenger mini bus rammed into the perimeter fence of the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) compound before hitting a tree in Barangay Nagbalayong, along JJ Linao Avenue in Morong, Bataan this afternoon.

The initial report was confirmed by the Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) to this reporter.

In a report from Police Captain Larry Valencia, Morong chief of police, the vehicular road crash happened at around 3:30 p.m. on Friday involving a public utility bus with plate no. CXP 880, being driven by Robert Pencil, 60, with more or less 40 passengers on board.

Initial investigation by the police disclosed that according to bus conductor, Ranuel Tena, the said vehicle was travelling towards Morong Town Proper and upon reaching the descending curved part of the road, the bus allegedly lost its brakes and accidentally overshot, hit & bumped the perimeter fence of the BNPP and a tree located inside the BNPP compound.

As a result, the driver and passengers sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to different hospitals for medical treatment by the MBDA Medics Team.
