BALANGA CITY – The Provincial Government of Bataan led by Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia has donated P800,000 for the construction of new shelters for the fire victims of West Calaguiman, Samal, Bataan.
This was revealed by Samal Municipal Mayor Aida Macalinao during a meeting yesterday at her office.
“Nais ko pong pasalamatan ang ating Gobernador Abet Garcia sa financial assistance na nagkakahalaga ng P800,000 na siyang ipambibili natin ng mga construction materials,” Mayor Macalinao said thru her Facebook post.
Mayor Macalinao also expressed gratitude to other donors like former Mayor Gene Dela Fuente who donated 3,000 hollow blocks; Aaron Cortez Rondilla and Beth Cruz who are the major facilitators for “BAHAYnihan: Rebuilding West Calaguiman” donation efforts; Bataan First District Congresswoman Geraldine Roman; Bishop Ruperto Santos of the Diocese of Balanga, Fr. Percival Medina, Fr. Tony Quintos, Alex Acuzar and Boyet Macha, among others.
Also, an artist based in England named Nina Carpio Reyes, a native of Sapa, Samal, Bataan, has donated P100,000 worth of kitchen wares, hygiene kits and other household needs. As of November 5, 2020, BAHAYnihan has raised P70,154.00 worth of cash donations.
The first-termer chief executive also said they planned to finish the construction of new houses before December 16, 2020.
According to Samal LGU report, the reported huge fire that transpired last October 23 had affected 34 families and 118 individuals in the said village.
