MORONG, Bataan — About 7,500 sacks of rice provided by the provincial government of Bataan were distributed Tuesday to Morong town residents who are severely affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
In a statement, Governor Albert Raymond Garcia said the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office is continuously repacking rice, canned goods and coffee as food assistance to be distributed soon in other towns in the province.
“I guarantee to all residents in the province that we will further send relief to all towns and city in Bataan. I am also asking for everybody’s understanding, solidarity and cooperation to the implemented ECQ for the welfare of all of us,” he stated.
For her part, Morong Mayor Cynthia Estanislao thanked the governor for sending the aid to affected residents.
“Morong residents would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Governor Garcia for the 7,500 cavans of rice, which is 25 kilos each, he sent to our municipality,” Estanislao said in a statement.
The distribution of rice to residents will be facilitated by barangay officials.
