BALANGA CITY (PIA) — Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) expressed its gratitude to the provincial government for its continuous support in its battle against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a statement, BGHMC Chief Glory Baltazar recounted the donations and technical services that the provincial government provided for the hospital especially for the welfare of its personnel.
“In coordination with Governor Abet Garcia and Congressman Joet Garcia, six hotels have offered temporary accommodation for health workers from various hospitals in the province. We have about 100 employees, who tested negative to the disease, staying at the hotels as they continue to serve the BGHMC,” the hospital chief said.
Baltazar also revealed that the provincial government continue to provide food packs daily, good for three meals, to about 600 BGHMC personnel. The city government of Balanga is also delivering additional food.
“The provincial government also provided bus transport by assigning the Metro Bataan Development Authority to assist in transporting our health workers to and from the hospital and back to their quarantine areas,” Baltazar stated.
She also recognized the pressurized tent provided by the Bataan Capitol to cater to 20 COVID-19 cases.
“I would like to thank Governor Abet Garcia for setting up the medical tent inside the BGHMC compound that will serve as a hospital extension for COVID-19 patients,” Baltazar furthered.
