MARIVELES, Bataan – Bataan local officials led by Provincial Governor Abet Garcia expressed full support to all the senatorial candidates of Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP).
The group’s second day of campaign caravan took place Wednesday morning at the covered court of the Freeport Area of Bataan in this municipality.
Bataan lawmakers, Geraldine Roman and Jose Enrique Garcia III joined Bataan mayors namely Francis Garcia of Balanga City, Gene Dela Fuente of Samal, Jopet Inton of Hermosa, Antonio Raymundo Jr. of Orion, Atty. Ace Jello Concepcion of Mariveles, vice mayor Lito Rubia, Board Member Jose Villapando, councilors, barangay officials and thousands of supporters
Yesterday, Mayor Duterte also led the campaign kickoff of senatorial aspirants of her political party in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga were it reportedly drew some 20,000 crowd.
Mayor Duterte formed HNP, a regional party, in 2018 to support her father.
HNP is known to have formed alliances with PDP-Laban, Nationalist People’s Coalition, Nacionalista Party, Lakas-CMD, Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino, National Unity Party, Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino, People’s Reform Party and Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
HNP-endorsed candidates include re-electionists Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, Cynthia Villar, and JV Ejercito, Sonny Angara as well as former senators Pia Cayetano, Jinggoy Estrada, and Bong Revilla, who are hoping to make a comeback in the upper chamber.
Other senate bets on HNP slate are President Rodrigo Duterte’s former political adviser Francis Tolentino, Senate race newcomers former Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, former police chief Ronald Dela Rosa, Maguindanao Rep. Zajid Mangudadatu, former journalist from GMA Newa Jiggy Manicad, and Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos.
The HNP slate is separate from the leaner team of the ruling party, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakad ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), which is fielding Go, Dela Rosa Mangudadatu, Koko Pimentel and Tolentino.
