BCDA reaffirms support for AFP modernization

“AFP is our top priority.”

This was the key message of Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Chairperson Hilario B. Paredes during his courtesy visit to Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr. at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City on Wednesday.

Chairperson Paredes reaffirmed BCDA’s unwavering commitment to advancing the AFP Modernization Program, highlighting the agency’s contributions amounting to nearly Php60 billion since 1993. These funds have supported key modernization initiatives and replication projects aimed at enhancing the country’s defense capabilities.

During their discussion, Paredes provided updates on significant BCDA projects aligned with the AFP’s goals. These include the recent groundbreaking ceremony for the Philippine Air Force housing relocation project in New Clark City, which seeks to provide improved living conditions for personnel and their families. He also cited the ongoing construction of the new Philippine Marine Corps headquarters in Morong, Bataan.

BCDA’s collaboration with the AFP underscores its commitment to supporting national security while fostering development in key military facilities. “Our partnership with the AFP reflects BCDA’s dedication to a stronger, modernized Armed Forces,” said Paredes.
