BALANGA CITY — A medical representative, nephew of a known businessman in this city, is presently in serious condition after he was allegedly shot and robbed by an unknown robber in an alleged either “dark area of Bagac or Pilar town”, last Monday.
Citing initial accounts from the victim’s relative, the victim was identified as Crisostomo Diaz Magarro Jr., legal age, a resident of Balanga City, and nephew of Joey Diaz, former president of Bataan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BACCII).
According to the victim, he felt so sleepy on that day at around 2 a.m. and decided to park his car to sleep for a while on a dark roadside “near a non-catholic church.”
“Nagising na lang daw siya wala na mga gamit nya like laptops, smartphones, and money. Naiwan daw niyang hindi nakalock ang kotse niya,” a relative said.
The victim was also shot on the face by an unknown caliber and managed to drive himself to a private hospital in Balanga City and was later transferred to an intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Angeles City, Pampanga because of the bullet that is still inside the body of the victim.
Both Mayors Charlie Pizarro of Pilar and Ramil Del Rosario of Bagac said they ordered their respective police chiefs to dig deeper in their investigation efforts to solve the case.
Mayor Pizarro also asked the Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) to review the CCTV footages to help the police in their investigation about the whereabouts and roads traversed by the victim’s car before and after the incident.
Since the creation of the MBDA in Bataan with their 911 Bataan Hotline, the Bataan LGUs and most of its visitors and tourists, tagged Bataan major roads as one of the safest in the country in terms security and immediate road assistance.
The MBDA also reportedly curbed the hold-up incidents that was prevalent in passenger buses along the province’s main arteries.
