What great joy it is to earn while doing something you love?
Myrna Pangilinan Corpin, one of the owners of JJBMS Blooming Greens Enterprises based in Barangay Pulungbulu, shared a story on how her co-parents in a school for special children started having blooming income from growing plants.
Being a mom to a son with special needs, she was able to learn the art of bonsai making by attending livelihood trainings in Angeles Elementary School Special Class with co-parents Joan (J), Jen (J), Bell (B) and Susan (S) the teacher, whose initials compose the name JJBMS.
With the increasing demand on indoors and outdoors plants, JJBMS was then registered as a business in 2018.
“Matagal na akong mahilig sa mga halaman at nakita namin yung demand sa mga halaman kaya naisip namin na bakit hindi namin gawin business. Ayun na nga nag start kami at itinatyo namin ang JJBMS Blooming Greens Enterprises” Corpin shared.
For four years now, selling plants has been her source of income especially during the pandemic. During the plantita and plantito season, orders were in bulk.
With the assistance of Angeles City Government thru the Office of the City Mayor and the Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (ACEDIPO), JJBMS was able to showcase their water bonsai and other plants at the OTOP Angeles Store during the pandemic.
“Nung tinawagan kami ni Mam Irish para i-display ang mga halaman sa OTOP, nagpapasalamat ako dahil dagdag kita ito at masayang libangan rin,” Corpin added. –Text and photos by Larrica Angela Cunanan
