Pampanga Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab has vowed legislation that will further assist solo parents.
Cayabyab paid a visit to some 500 solo parents in three Pampanga towns over the weekend.
In physically-distanced interactions where health protocols were strictly enforced, Cayabyab checked on the status of their families amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. She also distributed food packs to the solo parents.
“We are currently in the process of consultation and will soon formalize the necessary legislation to further extend support to our solo parents especially during this difficult time,” Cayabyab said.
The lady lawmaker said the pandemic had brought hardships to many families who have lost livelihoods and the situation is even more challenging to solo parents who would have to support their families on their own.
