BOC, PDEA intercept P5.5-M shabu shipment

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Clark, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), seized 816 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth P5.5 million, reinforcing the government’s anti-drug campaign.

The intercepted shipment, which came from Los Angeles, California, was intended for Cagayan de Oro City, authorities said.

BOC agents flagged the package during routine inspections and later confirmed its contents through chemical analysis and field testing.

The successful operation is part of BOC’s intensified border security measures to prevent the entry of illegal drugs into the country.

Authorities have launched an investigation to track down the shipment’s consignee and possible local connections.

PDEA reiterated its commitment to strengthening anti-drug operations, working closely with other agencies to curb illicit drug smuggling.

The BOC vowed to sustain its crackdown on drug trafficking, aligning with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to combat illegal drugs and protect communities.
